NIGP 08050: Nameplates, Metal, Adhesive Back

NIGP 08050 Nameplates, Metal, Adhesive Back is an Item code under which state and local governments procure small metal identification and recognition items, though recent activity under this specific code shows limited volume. The Detroit Police Department's recent sole source procurement for customized commendation ribbons—silk grosgrain ribbons with specific color patterns in 1.375-inch by 0.375-inch dimensions, totaling $8,500—illustrates one category of work: uniform insignia and departmental recognition items manufactured to police standards. State and local issuing bodies pursuing metal nameplate and adhesive-back products tend to be individual city or county departments with specialized recognition, labeling, or identification needs rather than centralized statewide procurement vehicles. The work is episodic and contract values remain modest.

Recent opportunities show activity in Michigan and Florida. The City of Detroit issued a sole source procurement for commendation ribbons due March 16, 2026, executed through the Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement, with the incumbent vendor identified as Irvin H. Hahn Company of Baltimore, Maryland. The source does not disclose additional recent open or competitive opportunities specifically under NIGP 08050, limiting visibility into broader market demand or issuing-body concentration under this code at present.
