About this vehicle
The Heavy Equipment Rental (Statewide) contract provides authorized users with short-term rental services for a comprehensive range of heavy equipment on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The contract covers equipment used for earthmoving, construction, lifting, concrete operations, and street sweeping, including but not limited to aerial lifts, air compressors, generators, light towers, concrete saws, backhoes, motor graders, skid-steer loaders, bulldozers, wheel loaders, trenchers, excavators, forklifts, and various specialized trucks and utility vehicles. Rentals are procured through a competitive quote process whereby authorized users solicit quotes from multiple contractors and select based on lowest price and best value, with ceiling prices established for all equipment and applicable delivery charges. The contract operates as a backdrop mechanism with quarterly pricelist updates permitted after an initial twelve-month firm pricing period.
The Office of General Services administers this statewide contract with eighteen prime contractors, including United Rentals (North America), Inc., Herc Rentals Inc., and regional providers such as A. Montano Co., Inc., Clark Equipment Rental LLC, and Tracey Road Equipment, Inc. The contract is available to all New York State agencies, departments, public authorities, political subdivisions, and other authorized entities including local governments, school districts, and eligible nonprofit organizations. The current contract period runs from January 12, 2026, through January 11, 2031, with potential one-year extensions at the state's discretion, providing coverage across all 62 New York State counties. The contract is classified under codes 22 and 72, contains no MBE, WBE, or SDVOB goal requirements, and includes provisions for comprehensive insurance coverage, maintenance responsibilities, and liquidated damages provisions.
