The United States Special Operations Command awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contract known as Mid Endurance Unmanned Aircraft Services IV to provide unmanned aircraft systems and services globally in support of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. Aerovironment, Inc. and its subsidiary Arcturus UAV, Inc. received contract awards under this vehicle.
Delivery orders issued to Arcturus include a $61.9 million order to provide such systems and services in Lebanon through May 2024. Additionally, a $21.5 million order funds intelligence gathering in Yemen through January 2024. A $1,500 order supported initiating the program with a kickoff meeting in Florida from June to July 2020. The original solicitation sought proposals to continuously operate and maintain compliant unmanned aircraft on a 24/7 basis from multiple overseas locations to support special operations forces worldwide, with a maximum potential value of $975 million over five years.
