The Department of Energy Office of Environmental Management awarded a single-award, indefinite delivery contract to the Tennessee Valley Authority to provide electrical utility services at the Oak Ridge Reservation in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The contract has a potential value of $450 million and a period of performance from October 2020 through September 2030. TVA will serve as the prime contractor without subcontractors to supply electricity to DOE facilities in support of environmental management and remediation activities at the former nuclear weapons production site.
Under the contract, five delivery orders have been awarded to TVA with a combined value of $109.4 million and completion dates ranging from September 2030. The delivery orders provide for electrical utility services, substation maintenance and upgrades, and research and development efforts related to sensor technologies at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. As a government-owned corporation, TVA will utilize existing infrastructure to ensure continued power access for the DOE's important environmental cleanup and risk reduction work at the Oak Ridge Reservation over the coming decade.
