The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) awarded a 5-year, $21 million Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) to Geissele Automatics LLC, a for-profit limited liability company, to provide Armalite rifles and rifle parts. The small business set-aside contract has a period of performance from September 2022 through September 2027. To date, several task orders have been issued under this IDC, including:
- A $309,968.26 firm-fixed price (FFP) order for AR-style rifles and parts, with performance through January 2023.
- A $1.58 million FFP order for Armalite rifles and parts, to be delivered by February 2024.
- Additional FFP delivery orders ranging from $12,000 to $2.1 million for rifles, rifle parts, and accessories for various federal civilian agencies such as the Transportation Security Administration, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, and Drug Enforcement Administration. Many of these orders were competed on an unrestricted basis.
The IDC's original solicitation indicated DHS CBP's requirement for complete AR-platform rifles in 5.56 caliber, as well as associated upper and lower receiver components. This contract enables DHS CBP and other federal agencies to efficiently acquire a variety of specialized small arms and firearm parts from an experienced supplier to support their law enforcement, training, and operational missions.
