This indefinite delivery contract (IDC) was awarded by the Library of Congress to OCLC, Inc. as a single-award, $100 million ceiling contract to provide a comprehensive suite of library services and solutions to federal agencies. The contract covers a range of OCLC's offerings, including metadata services, resource sharing, discovery and reference support, collection management and analysis tools, and participation in the OCLC Research Library Partnership. Under this master IDC, numerous federal agencies such as USDA, DOC, DOD, ED, DOE, DHS, DOI, and DOJ have issued delivery orders and task orders for OCLC's subscription services, which typically include WorldShare cataloging/metadata access, interlibrary loan solutions, online databases, reference publications, and other tools to support their library operations. This contract demonstrates OCLC's critical role in supporting and enhancing federal library systems across multiple agencies and departments, leveraging its expertise as a leading library technology provider to the U.S. government. Additionally, OCLC has received several prime federal grant awards from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to support various initiatives in the library and cultural heritage sector. These grants have funded projects aimed at enhancing digital collections stewardship, developing resources to support libraries impacted by opioid use disorder, creating tribal digital heritage management training, and providing science-based information to reduce COVID-19 transmission risks for libraries, archives, and museums. Through these grants, OCLC has been able to pilot facilitated peer-learning models, design training courses, build resource kits, conduct laboratory research, and broadly disseminate findings to cultural heritage institutions nationwide.
