Northern California Indian Development Council, Inc. received a $624,560 Project Grant award effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028, from the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration under the Native American Employment and Training Program (CFDA 17.265). The grant supports employment and training services targeted at unemployed, underemployed, and low-income American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals in California. The organization will deliver three primary service categories: (1) career services to prepare participants for entry, reentry, or retention in unsubsidized employment; (2) occupational training services aligned with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA); and (3) follow-up supportive services including counseling and job retention assistance for up to 12 months following participant exit.
The program aims to develop participants' academic, occupational, and literacy skills while building entrepreneurial capabilities for self-employment and promoting economic and social development within Native communities. Performance outcomes include employment placement in the second and fourth quarters following exit, median earnings achievement, credential attainment, skill gains, and services to employers. The grant includes minimal subrecipient involvement, indicating direct service delivery by Northern California Indian Development Council, Inc.
