Community Council of Idaho, Inc. received a $2,456,947 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration under the National Farmworker Jobs Program (CFDA 17.264), effective July 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026. The award funds comprehensive workforce development and supportive services designed to strengthen the employment prospects of eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs) and their dependents across Idaho. Core service delivery includes case management-based career services, occupational skills training leading to industry-recognized credentials, youth workforce development activities for participants ages 14-24, and allowance payments to support farmworkers in retaining agricultural employment or participating in training services.
In addition to employment and training services, the grant provides housing assistance to address the critical need for safe and sanitary permanent and temporary housing among farmworker populations. Services are delivered through a customer-choice oriented case management approach emphasizing individualized support, with related assistance services including short-term direct aid to help farmworkers and family members overcome barriers to employment participation. The awardee is required to collect and report performance data to the Department of Labor on standard Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) metrics and maintain complete accounting, personnel, and participant records in accordance with 2 CFR Parts 200 and 2900 (Uniform Guidance).
