Tennessee Opportunity Programs Inc. received a $702,728 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (ETA) under the National Farmworker Jobs Program (CFDA 17.264), effective July 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026. The award funds comprehensive workforce development and supportive services for eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs) and their dependents in Tennessee. Core service delivery includes basic and individualized career services, occupational skills training leading to industry-recognized credentials, case management emphasizing customer choice, and related assistance services such as allowance payments and short-term direct assistance to help farmworkers retain agricultural employment or participate in training programs.
In addition to employment and training services, the grant supports housing assistance activities designed to address critical housing needs within the farmworker community. Housing services include direct emergency and temporary housing payments as well as indirect leveraging activities to increase housing stock availability and support housing development projects that improve living conditions in underserved farmworker communities. All services are delivered through a case management approach with required performance reporting to ETA on standard Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) metrics including employment rates, earnings, credential attainment, and measurable skill gains.
