Southwest Economic Solutions, operating as Miside Wealth, received a $320,000 Project Grant award effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028, from the Department of Labor's Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS) under the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP, CFDA 17.805). The award supports employment-focused services designed to assist veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness in securing competitive employment and achieving long-term job stability in Michigan.
Under this grant, Southwest Economic Solutions will deliver comprehensive employment services and job training to eligible veterans, including career counseling, job readiness preparation, career technical training, job placement assistance, and wraparound supportive services. The organization may also elect to target specialized populations such as veterans transitioning from incarceration, homeless female veterans, and homeless veterans with children. While the organization is not required to sub-award funds, it is encouraged to leverage partnerships with service providers and governmental entities to enhance program impact and address complex employment barriers. Success will be measured through job placement rates and post-program earnings and income stability among veteran participants.
