Veterans Multi-Service Center Inc. received a $278,632 Project Grant from the Department of Labor's Veterans Employment and Training Service under the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (CFDA 17.805) effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028. The award funds comprehensive employment and supportive services targeting homeless and at-risk veterans across twelve Pennsylvania counties: Clinton, Lebanon, Lycoming, Centre, Mifflin, Union, Snyder, Northumberland, Juniata, Franklin, Fulton, and Dauphin. Services are delivered through physical service locations in Harrisburg and Lock Haven and include housing assistance, job training, employment placement, legal aid, and wraparound supportive services designed to address employment barriers and promote housing stability.
The program projects enrollment of 70 homeless veterans in employment and training services, with 55% expected to receive skills enhancement training. The awardee anticipates placing 61% of program exiters into sustainable employment, with at least 50% earning wages by the second quarter following exit and 30% earning wages by the fourth quarter. Projected median earnings for employed participants in the second quarter after exit range from $7,184 to $7,547, aligning with the regional average living wage of $20.47 per hour. These outcomes reflect the program's emphasis on competitive employment and economic self-sufficiency for the veteran population experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the designated service delivery area.
