This federal Project Grant award from the Department of Labor's Native American Employment and Training program (CFDA 17.265) provides $1,253,771 to the Lumbee Regional Development Association, Inc. to support employment and training activities for American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians in North Carolina.
The grantee will provide a range of career services to eligible participants, including career preparation, job search assistance, and skills training. The organization will also offer follow-up services for up to 12 months after participants exit the program to help them obtain and retain employment. Expected outcomes include improved employment and earnings for participants, as well as credential attainment and measurable skill gains. While the grant allows little subrecipient activity, the Lumbee Regional Development Association will directly deliver these workforce development services to unemployed, underemployed, and low-income Native American individuals in the region.
