MEMBERS WILL FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING TWO SERVICE ACTIVITIES: 1) PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICE DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING EVIDENCE-BASED CIVIC LEARNING AND ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS AT K-12 PARTNER SITES, AND 2) PROVIDE INDIRECT SERVICE DEVELOPING AND STRENGTHENING K-H AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS TO BUILD CAPACITY FOR A PIPELINE OF CIVIC LEARNING AND ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FROM KINDERGARTEN THROUGH HIGHER EDUCATION, PARTICULARLY FOR ACADEMICALLY STRUGGLING AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED YOUTH. MEMBERS WILL SERVE IN COLORADO AND WYOMING (SPECIFIC SITES AND CITIES WITHIN THE REGION ARE IDENTIFIED FURTHER IN THE APPLICATION). AT THE END OF THE FIRST PROGRAM YEAR, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL HAVE DELIVERED EVIDENCE-BASED CIVIC LEARNING AND ENGAGEMENT INTERVENTIONS TO 750 K-12 YOUTH AND INCREASED THE CAPACITY OF 12 K-H PARTNERSHIP TEAMS TO SUSTAIN CIVIC LEARNING AND ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES BEYOND FEDERAL GRANT FUNDING. IN ADDITION, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL HAVE LEVERAGED 210 COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS ENGAGED IN SUPPORTING CIVIC LEARNING AND ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM DELIVERY THROUGH CLASSROOM AND EXTENDED-DAY PROGRAMMING. THIS PROGRAM WILL FOCUS ON THE CNCS FOCUS AREAS OF EDUCATION AND CAPACITY BUILDING. THE CNCS INVESTMENT OF $492,859 WILL BE MATCHED WITH $153,905 IN PRIVATE FUNDING.
