DESCRIPTION:THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDES SUPPORT TO THE STATE OF OHIO TO IMPLEMENT ITS NONPOINT SOURCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, FOCUSING ON WATERSHEDS WITH WATER QUALITY IMPAIRMENTS CAUSED BY POLLUTED RUNOFF FROM NONPOINT SOURCES. NONPOINT SOURCE IMPLEMENTATION PROJECTS INCLUDE A VARIETY OF STRUCTURAL AND NON-STRUCTURAL BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES (BMPS), WATERSHED PLANNING, MONITORING, TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATIONS, AND A VARIETY OF EDUCATION/OUTREACH PROGRAMS.ACTIVITIES:THE PROPOSED WORK IN THIS AGREEMENT INCLUDES: TEN WATERSHED PROJECTS THAT WILL REDUCE OR ELIMINATE IMPAIRMENT, RESTORE IMPAIRED WATERS, OR PROTECT HIGH QUALITY WATERS AND SUPPORT 4 NEW 9-ELEMENT NONPOINT SOURCE IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES (NPS-IS) AND UPDATE ONE EXISTING NPS-IS.SUBRECIPIENT:SUBAWARD ACTIVITIES WILL BE USED TO SUPPORT ALL WATERSHED PROJECT ACTIVITIES INCLUDING NUTRIENT REDUCTION, WETLAND RESTORATION, COORDINATION WITH PARTNER AGENCIES, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, BMP INSTALLATION, TARGETED WATERSHEDS, STREAMBANK STABILIZATION, AND TMDL IMPLEMENTATION.OUTCOMES:THE ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE POLLUTANT LOAD REDUCTION, WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT, INSTALLED BMPS, VERIFICATION AND PROGRESS OF ALL IMPLEMENTED NPS PROJECTS, EVALUATION OF NONPOINT SOURCE MONITORING, AND GRTS WQX SUBMISSIONS. DIRECT BENEFICIARIES OF THIS PROGRAM INCLUDE ALL STATE RESIDENTS AND OCCUPANTS, BOTH PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY.
