THIS PROGRAM SEEKS TO UTILIZE QUALIFIED NON PROFIT YOUTH AND VETERAN SERVING ORGANIZATIONS TO CARRY OUT APPROPRIATE NATURAL AND CULTURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, VOLUNTEER SERVICE AND EDUCATION PROJECTS ON DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR LANDS THROUGH AUTHORIZED NPS PROGRAMS THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE MEANINGFUL LIFE AND WORK EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING LAND AND RESOURCE STEWARDSHIP EDUCATION AND APPRECIATION TECHNICAL, SAFETY AND TEAMBUILDING OPPORTUNITIES WHILE WORKING IN A NATIONAL PARK UNIT. THIS PROJECT WILL FOCUS ON REPAIRING 1.6 MILES OF A TRAIL BY PERFORMING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND TREAD REPAIR FROM WEATHER FOR VISITOR SAFETY.
