Description

Utah women and newborns quality collaborative - this project will address health disparities in maternal perinatal healthcare and health outcomes by expanding the capacity of the utah women and newborns quality collaborative. This will be accomplished by collaborating on quality improvement initiatives with community-based organizations, facilities, patient advocates, department data staff and the utah department of health and human services, office of health equity. To address health disparities among utah's hispanic/latino maternal population, a toolkit will be created that includes resources available to address the social determinants of health. To improve healthcare practices equitably, a clinician toolkit training video will be developed along with providing the respectful maternity care implementation toolkit for clinicians serving maternal patients. Future quality improvement initiatives will be determined through data assessment and engaging partners. This approach will increase quality improvement initiatives to improve maternal, perinatal, and neonatal care statewide and reduce disparities.
