This $52 million Cooperative Agreement award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program (CFDA 66.615) funds the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI), a non-profit organization, to serve as a regional grantmaker. GHHI will redistribute approximately $40 million of the total award through 171 competitive and noncompetitive subawards to community-based organizations that are advancing environmental justice initiatives in the EPA Region 3 area. GHHI will also utilize $2 million for program administration and closeout costs. The key activities include awarding the subawards, providing technical assistance to the subrecipients, developing grant management software, conducting outreach, and monitoring program outcomes. GHHI will collaborate with core technical assistance providers such as Children's National and Howard University to support the subrecipient organizations. This 3-year award period runs from August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2027.
