The State of Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) was awarded a $2,413,558 Block Grant for Community Mental Health Services (CFDA 93.958) from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The grant will fund comprehensive mental health services for adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbances across Montana from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2026.
Through this grant, DPHHS will provide a range of mental health interventions, including outpatient counseling, substance abuse treatment, crisis intervention, case management, housing assistance, peer support, workforce training, and public education campaigns. DPHHS has sub-awarded portions of the grant to two local organizations - Never Alone Recovery Support Services and Dynamic Recovery - to deliver drop-in center services and other community-based mental health programs.
