The National Institute on Drug Abuse awarded a purchase order to Novogene Corporation Inc., a minority-owned small business, for $24,999.99 on September 17, 2026, for pharmacogenomic analysis services supporting the STAR-B randomized clinical trial of semaglutide for alcohol use disorder treatment.
Work is performed in Sacramento, California. The contractor will conduct biospecimen receipt and processing, DNA extraction, quality control assessment, genome-wide genotyping and/or sequencing, standard bioinformatics processing, and delivery of raw and processed genomic data with documentation. The award was sole-sourced based on continuity with Novogene's ongoing sequencing services for the parallel STAR-T study at Oklahoma State University, preserving research design consistency for cross-study comparison. The period of performance is 12 months, with completion expected by September 16, 2027. All genomic data remains NIH property and is restricted to NIDA Intramural Research Program clinical teams; samples and data are de-identified prior to contractor receipt.
