Valle Lindo School District

Valle Lindo School District is a U.S. local government entity and school district based in South El Monte, California, that has been registered to receive federal awards since December 2009. The district serves as a prime grantee for federal grant awards and has demonstrated a commitment to improving educational outcomes and school safety across its jurisdiction through federal funding mechanisms.

Valle Lindo School District has received substantial federal grant support through multiple agencies and programs to address the educational and operational needs of its student population. Most notably, the district was awarded a $356,791 School Violence Prevention Program grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) with a performance period from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2028. This prime grant award enables the district to implement evidence-based programs and security technologies, including coordination with local law enforcement, officer training, metal detector installation, and emergency notification systems. Additionally, Valle Lindo School District has served as a sub-grantee receiving multiple federal grant awards from the California Department of Education since 2021, including support for improving teaching and learning in high-poverty schools targeted at students failing or at-risk of failing to meet state academic achievement standards. The district has also received pandemic response funding to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19, as well as nutrition program support through federal meal service grants for both lunch and breakfast programs, which provide cash grants and food donations to ensure nutritious nonprofit meal services for school children. These awards demonstrate the district's focus on academic improvement, school safety, student nutrition, and pandemic resilience across its operations.
