About United States - India Educational Foundation

The United States - India Educational Foundation (USIEF) is a non-profit organization based in India and registered as a foreign government entity to receive federal awards from the U.S. government. USIEF primarily provides educational advising, outreach programs, and cultural exchange activities aimed at promoting educational and cultural ties between India and the United States.

Over the past several years, USIEF has been awarded numerous federal grants and cooperative agreements totaling millions of dollars from the U.S. Department of State, particularly its Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs and Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. A major focus has been delivering EducationUSA advising services across India to inform students about study opportunities in the U.S. and guide them through the application process, supported by awards under the Public Diplomacy Programs (CFDA 19.040). USIEF also organizes speaker programs, alumni events, university fairs, and exhibitions to build people-to-people connections and advance U.S. public diplomacy goals in India. Notably, USIEF administered the U.S.-India Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship exchange program. While primarily a prime recipient, USIEF has also served as a sub-awardee, for instance partnering with the International Research and Exchanges Board to host an alumni conference. Through its grants, USIEF plays a key role in the U.S.-India bilateral relationship by facilitating educational and cultural diplomacy initiatives.
