About the company
The People's Harm Reduction Alliance is a nonprofit, community-based drug user empowerment organization that has provided health and harm reduction services to people who use drugs since 2007. They operate syringe services programs, medication-assisted treatment clinics, mobile HCV testing and outreach services, and other programs to reduce barriers and expand access to care.
Through federal grants, The People's Harm Reduction Alliance has provided a range of health services targeting infectious disease prevention and treatment for people who inject drugs. They received funding to support syringe services programs as access points for COVID-19 education, testing, and vaccination referrals. They also utilized grant funding to co-locate HCV treatment prescribing within an existing syringe services program and medication-assisted treatment clinic, to reduce barriers to HCV care. Additional federal funding supported expanding mail-based naloxone distribution and overdose prevention education campaigns statewide. These federal grants have been awarded by agencies including the CDC, the Washington State Department of Health, the National Council for Behavioral Health, and the University of Washington. The People's Harm Reduction Alliance delivers this work both as a direct grantee and sub-awardee partner under federal harm reduction and infectious disease prevention grant programs.
