The Arizona Council Of Trout Unlimited, Inc.

The Arizona Council Of Trout Unlimited, Inc. is a non-profit organization registered to receive federal grant awards. Based on the award descriptions, it appears to be a chapter of Trout Unlimited, a national organization dedicated to conserving and protecting trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds.

The organization has received multiple grants from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, primarily to support its "Trout in the Classroom" program. This environmental education initiative engages students in grades 4-12 in raising rainbow trout from eggs to fry, monitoring water quality, studying stream habitats, and developing an appreciation for water resources and conservation ethics. Grants have funded the purchase of aquarium equipment, fish food, and other supplies needed for participating classrooms. Local Trout Unlimited volunteers assist with securing trout eggs, setting up equipment, providing guest speakers, and organizing outdoor fishing opportunities. Additionally, the organization received a grant to renovate and restore a desert fish habitat as a refuge for species like the round tail chub, longfin dace, and Chiricahua leopard frog, while creating an educational site for youth programs and schools. The funded projects aim to promote environmental stewardship and conservation through hands-on learning experiences.
