About the company
Special Emergency Activity To Restore Children's Hope (SEARCH) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in Liberia. It is committed to providing advocacy for, and direct social protection services to, women and children, carrying out activities aimed at restoring hope for children.
Through federal contract sub-awards, SEARCH has been engaged to provide Liberian youth aged 15-29 with a range of sustainable opportunities, tools, and support systems that enable them to improve their livelihoods and increase their abilities to contribute as both economically- and socially-productive and engaged family and community members. These contracts have been subcontracted from prime contractors such as Education Development Center, Inc., and the work involves developing cost-effective solutions and innovative approaches to meet the stated objectives.
Through federal grant sub-awards, SEARCH has been involved in a pilot project exploring the role of Child Welfare Committees in identifying and supporting children at risk of exploitation or facing exploitation. This project has been tested in Sanniqullie and Ganta, Nimba County, Liberia, with funding from the prime grantee, The Freedom Fund. Additionally, SEARCH has conducted risk communication and community engagement activities aimed at reducing and eliminating transmission of COVID-19 in Liberia, Nimba County, as a sub-awardee under the prime grantee Palladium International LLC.
