About the company
Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to autism research, education, evidence-based treatment, and community outreach. They provide a lifetime of support for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Through prime federal grants from the Defense Health Agency, SARRC has conducted research on behavioral interventions for increasing functional independence in aging adults with autism spectrum disorder. They have also studied early treatment of language impairment in young children with autism spectrum disorder using Leucovorin calcium. As a subawardee under the University of California San Diego, SARRC has participated in research on early autism screening and diagnosis in young children. This has involved developmental evaluations of children who were screened for autism spectrum disorder at 12 months old during well-baby checkups. The evaluations have included diagnostic tools like the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Mullen Scales for Early Learning, and Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale.
