Housing Authority Of The City Of Runge

Housing Authority Of CY Runge, a tax-exempt non-profit public housing authority based in Runge, Texas, receives federal housing formula grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Public and Indian Housing Office and operates exclusively as a grant recipient — the entity does not serve as a federal contractor, subcontractor, or participate in contract vehicles.

The Housing Authority's federal footprint consists entirely of HUD formula grants administered under two primary programs. The Public Housing Operating Fund (CFDA not separately specified in award metadata) funds day-to-day operational and maintenance expenses, management costs, routine and preventive maintenance, security and anti-crime activities, energy costs, resident supportive services, insurance, and debt service. The Public Housing Capital Fund (CFDA 14.872) supports capital modernization, development, infrastructure improvements, emergency repairs, and management activities necessary to maintain safe housing for low-income residents, with funds deployed through an approved 5-Year Action Plan or for emergency work. The Housing Authority's most recent award, effective April 1, 2026, is a Public Housing Capital Fund grant of $149,829 running through March 31, 2030; earlier capital and operating fund grants span back to 2022 with ultimate completion dates reaching through 2032. These are formula grants, not competitive awards — the Housing Authority's allocation derives from its participation in the national Public Housing Capital Fund program, which distributes approximately $1.8 billion annually across roughly 2,770 Public Housing Agencies managing nearly one million public housing units nationwide.

Customer concentration is absolute: all 35 awards in the source data are from HUD's Public and Indian Housing Office, representing the Housing Authority's sole federal funding relationship. Combined dollars obligated across all awards total $4.2 million. The Housing Authority has received two awards with ultimate completion dates falling within the next twenty-four months and therefore facing renewal or reallocation in that window. The entity has consistently received two awards per year across the past five years (2022–2026), a steady cadence reflecting annual cycles of capital and operating fund allocations rather than competitive procurement activity.
