About Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center
The Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC) is a nonprofit organization that serves as the leading source of pollution prevention information and solutions in the Northwest region. PPRC offers technical assistance, training, and resources to help communities, businesses, and industries implement sustainable practices that promote economic and environmental vitality.
PPRC has received numerous federal grants to support its mission of delivering pollution prevention and environmental compliance assistance. Several grants from the Environmental Protection Agency enabled PPRC to provide technical assistance to small, rural, and tribal wastewater systems for managing fats, oils, grease, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and emerging contaminants. The Center also conducted on-site assessments, hosted roundtables, and created educational materials on source reduction strategies for industrial facilities in economically disadvantaged communities. Multiple awards from the Department of Agriculture facilitated PPRC's delivery of technical assistance and training to rural areas for preparing water/waste disposal applications, improving system operations, and addressing critical sanitation needs. Additionally, PPRC partnered with state agencies through EPA geographic program grants to develop pollution prevention training videos, worksheets, and newsletters targeting automotive, landscaping, and food/beverage sectors, while promoting voluntary certification programs.
