About the company

The Community Health Center Association of Mississippi (CHCAMS) is a nonprofit membership organization representing 21 Community Health Centers in the state. It supports and advocates for its members in their efforts to provide quality access to comprehensive and affordable health care services, particularly for underserved communities.

Through federal grant awards, CHCAMS has provided training and technical assistance to health centers and look-alikes in Mississippi to enhance primary care delivery and health outcomes. In 2021, it received a $376,718 project grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the Technical and Non-Financial Assistance to Health Centers program to conduct capacity building for local health centers through 2023. Additionally, CHCAMS was awarded $54.7 million from HRSA in 2021 for a project to increase COVID-19 vaccinations in underserved communities through a community-based workforce. The funding supports this effort through October 2023. CHCAMS has also participated as a sub-award recipient, partnering with the Regents of the University of California, San Francisco, to provide quality improvement services aimed at linking more individuals to HIV care and treatment in Mississippi.
