About the company
Lamoille County Conservation District (LCCD) is a non-profit organization that promotes the conservation of natural resources vital to the local Vermont community through soil, water, and natural resource protection projects since 1945. LCCD provides design and implementation services for watershed and habitat restoration to federal agencies, primarily the Department of Interior, Fish & Wildlife Service, through cooperative agreements funded by the Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration federal grant program.
Through prime and sub awards, LCCD has performed projects to improve stream connectivity and trout habitat in the Lamoille River basin, replace an undersized culvert on Joe's Brook to expand habitat and improve stability, implement stormwater and lakeshore best management practices at the Mt. Norris Boy Scout Camp, and install a subsurface stormwater system at a local school parking lot. Partners have included the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission. These projects aim to reduce sediment and nutrient loading in local watersheds through installation of erosion control structures, restoration of riparian buffers, replacement of inadequate culverts, creation of stormwater treatment wetlands, and other conservation best practices.
