Grassroot Soccer Education Li Mited

Grassroot Soccer Education Li Mited Grassroot Soccer Education LIMITED Division is a non-profit international organization based in Zambia that specializes in delivering sport-based interventions focused on adolescent health, HIV prevention, and life skills development. The organization primarily receives federal grant awards through cooperative agreements and project grants from the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of African Affairs under the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program. Grassroot Soccer utilizes trained coaches to implement community-led monitoring initiatives aimed at improving the quality of HIV care in various provinces of Zambia, including Lusaka. Their approach involves using soccer as a platform to educate and empower youth, particularly in areas heavily impacted by HIV/AIDS, while collecting client feedback to enhance HIV treatment and prevention programs.

Through its federal grant awards and sub-awards, Grassroot Soccer has implemented several projects focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment for adolescents. The organization provides services such as adherence support, linkage to clinical services, and delivers evidence-based interventions like SKILLZ Core, SKILLZ Girl, and SKILLZ Boy for primary HIV and gender-based violence prevention. As a sub-recipient partner, Grassroot Soccer has participated in projects aimed at improving ART adherence and retention in care for adolescents living with HIV through SKILLZ Plus and SKILLZ Plus Clubs. The organization has also been involved in expanding facility-based, youth-friendly health services through Youth-Friendly Corners and using a Caring Coach Model to facilitate and strengthen linkages to youth-friendly health services at community and facility levels. Additionally, Grassroot Soccer has contributed to projects focused on strengthening youth-led local development by building capacities of youth-led and youth-serving groups to conduct quality implementation research and strengthening local systems through intergenerational dialogue. These initiatives have been supported by prime grantees such as International Research And Exchanges Board Inc. and Access To Health Zambia, demonstrating Grassroot Soccer's ability to collaborate with various partners in achieving its mission of improving adolescent health outcomes in Zambia.
