Fundacion Puerto De Ideas

Fundacion Puerto De Ideas is a non-profit international organization registered in SAM.gov since September 2015, operating primarily in Chile with a focus on cultural and educational exchanges. The organization specializes in facilitating cross-cultural dialogues and knowledge dissemination through various events and initiatives that promote understanding between the United States and Chile. Its primary engagement with the federal government occurs through project grants from the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, which supports its mission of cultural and intellectual collaboration.

The organization has consistently received federal grants to support cultural and educational exchange programs, particularly the Puerto De Ideas Festival in Valparaiso, Chile. These grants have funded diverse initiatives such as bringing U.S. experts and speakers to participate in cultural events, supporting virtual exchanges highlighting U.S. expertise in fields like space exploration and natural sciences, and creating platforms for knowledge sharing with Chilean students and audiences. For instance, past grants have specifically supported the participation of institutions like the American Museum of Natural History in virtual exchanges, funded three U.S. speakers for festival participation, and enabled programs that promote U.S. perspectives on social and scientific themes. Each grant, typically ranging from several months to a year, has focused on creating meaningful intellectual and cultural connections between U.S. experts and Chilean audiences through carefully curated events and educational programs.
