About Jerome County Sheriffs Office
Jerome County Sheriff's Office, a county law enforcement agency in Jerome, Idaho, operates as a sub-recipient on federal law enforcement and traffic safety grants and as a prime contractor on a modest federal purchase order, with activity split evenly between prime contracts and grant sub-awards. The Sheriff's Office is a child entity of the County of Jerome, itself a local government agency.
The Sheriff's Office' federal footprint is concentrated in two customer agencies. The Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Idaho Region accounts for seven awards carrying $105 thousand in combined potential value, all in the security guards and patrol services category. The Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration accounts for the remaining seven awards, all involving traffic safety enforcement campaigns and grant programs. The Sheriff's Office holds no seat on government-wide vehicles and does not subcontract to major prime contractors on the federal side.
Grant work dominates the Sheriff's Office' recent activity. Since 2023, the agency has served as a sub-recipient on seven grant subawards from the Idaho Department of Transportation, the prime grantee on NHTSA traffic safety funding. Specific activities include a Traffic Enforcement Program grant under the 402 grant category (September 2023), high-visibility enforcement mobilizations for impaired driving (September 2023 and October 2024), the Click It, Don't Risk It seatbelt enforcement campaign (September 2023 and October 2024), a Thanksgiving seatbelt enforcement campaign (September 2023), and a Distracted Driving Awareness campaign (October 2024). The Sheriff's Office' only prime federal contract award on record is a $11 thousand firm fixed price purchase order for the TFD-Jerome Sheriff Service Contract, awarded February 9, 2026 with an ultimate completion date of June 30, 2031, funded through the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Idaho Region for performance in Hailey, Idaho. The purchase order carries no set-aside designation and no identified major subcontractors. Activity remains episodic — one award in 2021, four in 2023, three in 2024, and one in 2026 — with obligated dollars ($224 thousand across all awards) exceeding the combined potential value ceiling, suggesting some awards have been fully drawn or exceeded their initial contract ceilings.
