About Coalition For Responsible Community Development
Coalition For Responsible Community Development (CRCD) is a Black American-owned, tax-exempt nonprofit community development corporation headquartered in Los Angeles, California, that has been registered in SAM.gov since May 2007. CRCD is a youth-centered organization dedicated to transforming lives and building neighborhoods responsibly in South Los Angeles, serving communities where a significant percentage of residents live below the poverty line and experience housing affordability challenges. The organization receives federal grant funding to support its core mission of workforce development, community revitalization, and affordable housing production in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.
CRCD has demonstrated substantial experience delivering federal grant-funded services across multiple program areas. The organization has received prime federal grant awards from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (Administration for Children and Families and Office of Community Services), the Environmental Protection Agency (Region 9), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development), and the Department of Labor (Employment and Training Administration). Through these awards, CRCD has operated workforce development and job training initiatives, including lead abatement and construction job creation programs in South Los Angeles that generated employment for low-income residents; climate action and workforce training programs addressing greenhouse gas emissions and air quality under the Inflation Reduction Act; YouthBuild pre-apprenticeship programming serving opportunity youth ages 16-24; reentry employment services for individuals reentering the community after incarceration through the "Work for South L.A." initiative; and infrastructure and community development projects. CRCD has also served as a sub-grantee on awards from Enterprise Community Partners, Inc., Jobs For Americas Graduates, Youthbuild Global, Inc., the Department of Housing and Community Development, and the Workforce Investment Board of the City of Los Angeles, participating in capacity-building initiatives for affordable housing production, low-income housing construction and rehabilitation, and job training programs for homeless and at-risk populations. These grants have collectively supported CRCD's development of social enterprises, expansion of community services, and advancement of economic development and housing production outcomes for vulnerable populations in South Los Angeles.
