Asociatia Nationala A Bibliotecarilor Si Bibliotecilor Publice Din Romania is a non-profit organization registered in SAM.gov, headquartered in Bucharest, Romania, with a current registration valid through March 28, 2026. The organization primarily engages with U.S. federal agencies through grant awards, focusing on cultural and educational exchange programs that support American cultural initiatives in Romania. While specific details about the organization's broader mission are not provided in the available documentation, its consistent involvement with U.S. government cultural programs suggests a strategic partnership in promoting American cultural understanding and resources within Romanian public libraries and community spaces.

The organization has received multiple federal grant awards exclusively from the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, predominantly supporting the American Spaces and American Corners network in Romania. These grants, ranging from $10,000 to $50,000, have funded projects such as establishing and equipping American Corners in cities like Sibiu, organizing workshops for American Corner coordinators, launching cultural exhibits like the "We the People" photo exhibit, and providing up-to-date resources and programming materials. The grants specifically aim to expand the American cultural footprint, support impactful programming commemorating milestones like the 20th anniversary of American Spaces in Romania, and integrate American shelves and resources into Romanian public libraries. Each grant typically has a project duration between 6-18 months, with completion dates ranging from March 2022 to December 2025, demonstrating a consistent and ongoing collaboration with U.S. diplomatic and cultural entities.
