The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) awarded a $1.5M Cooperative Agreement to Per Scholas, Inc., a non-profit organization, under the Cybersecurity Education and Training Assistance Program (CFDA 97.127). The funding will support Per Scholas in establishing a Cybersecurity Training Hub to deliver competency-based cybersecurity education and workforce development services over a 3-year period from September 2023 to September 2026. The project aims to strengthen the nation's cybersecurity workforce pipeline by providing tuition-free cybersecurity training, job readiness programs, skills assessments, certifications, and job placement and retention services, primarily focused on serving underserved communities. Per Scholas has also been a subrecipient on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Employment and Training projects in multiple states, providing vocational training, job placement, and retention services to SNAP recipients.
