About this program
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funds oral health prevention and control programs through Assistance Listing 93.446, Partner Actions to Improve Oral Health Outcomes, which operated under the most recent grant opportunity CDC-RFA-DP-24-0049 with a due date of June 3, 2024.
The program supports activities to prevent and control oral diseases and related conditions among priority populations. Recent solicitation activity centered on three distinct components: Component 1 provides technical assistance and training on community water fluoridation, evidence-based preventive dental services, and oral health equity; Component 2 supports infection prevention and control partnerships and activities; and Component 3 delivers oral health surveillance and evaluation technical assistance while assessing efforts to reach priority populations. Applicants may apply for any component separately or in combination.
Awards are structured as Cooperative Agreements with a period of performance up to five years, organized as 12-month budget periods. After initial awards and subject to funds availability, projects may continue non-competitively contingent on satisfactory progress and federal determination that continued funding serves the government's best interest.
Eligible applicants include official state and territorial health agencies, tribal organizations, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and freely associated states. For specific funding announcements, eligible applicants may be more limited; the most recent opportunity specified unrestricted applicant types.
