The Municipal and Traffic Court of New Orleans was awarded a $788,875 Project Grant from the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Swift, Certain, and Fair Supervision Program: Applying the Principles Behind Project HOPE federal grant program (CFDA 16.828). The Court, working with community partners, will establish a New Orleans Community Court to develop and implement collaborative supervision strategies based on Swift, Certain, and Fair principles to reduce recidivism among individuals under supervision. A key focus will be providing housing assistance, behavioral health, and substance use disorder interventions. The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles (ABPP) received a $792,701 Project Grant award from the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Swift, Certain, and Fair Supervision Program: Applying the Principles Behind Project HOPE (CFDA #16.828) to implement the SCF-Responsive Monitoring of Violent and Sex Offenders program. The program will provide intensive supervision and a specialized sanctions matrix for medium- to high-risk violent and sex offenders in six additional Alabama counties through September 2026. Using GPS monitoring and house arrest, the program aims to reduce recidivism rates in these counties by 50% through swift, certain, and fair responses to violations or compliance. The Alabama Department of Public Health is the parent organization of ABPP, the awardee.
