This $4.21 million Project Grant from the National Park Service will support land acquisition and trail development projects at Radnor Lake State Natural Area and State Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Administered through the Outdoor Recreation Acquisition, Development and Planning program, the grant will allow the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to purchase two adjacent parcels totaling 9.08 acres crucial for long-term management and protection of Tennessee's first natural area. Additionally, the Department will develop 3 miles of new trail as part of the Harris Ridge Trail at Radnor Lake State Park. The Friends of Radnor Lake, a partner on the project, will provide up to $4.61 acres of contiguous matching land. Funded activities will take place between May 2023 and May 2025 and are part of a larger connectivity plan to link the park to the nearby Brentwood Greenway within three years. The grant will enable increased public access to outdoor recreation opportunities through new hiking trails and land protection in one of the fastest growing cities in the nation.
