About this opportunity
The City of Newark, New Jersey, is soliciting electronic bids for Invitation to Bid (ITB) #2025-99, seeking a comprehensive range of work gloves for municipal departments. The procurement targets 50 different types of gloves, including chemical protective, leather, neoprene, disposable, and specialized variants for applications such as welding, industrial work, food handling, and medical examinations. Electronic bids must be submitted through the City's e-Procurement Portal by November 25, 2025, at 10:15 am, with vendor questions due by November 19, 2025. The contract appears to be structured for a two-year term, with pricing tables provided for Year 1 and Year 2, and each line item representing a single pair or box of gloves. Bidders are required to provide all-inclusive unit pricing covering labor, materials, transportation, and handling, with the City reserving the right to award contracts to multiple vendors based on line item commodities and adjust contract quantities as needed.
The procurement includes several mandatory compliance requirements that may restrict bidder eligibility, including affirmative action regulations, anti-discrimination provisions, and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance. Vendors must submit multiple documentation forms, including a Hold Harmless Agreement, Non-Collusion Affidavit, Disclosure of Prohibited Activities in Russia and Belarus, Iran Investment Disclosure, and Federal Non-Debarment Certification. While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed, the comprehensive documentation requirements suggest a rigorous vendor qualification process. Vendors must provide proof of business registration, appropriate insurance, and complete various state-mandated certifications. Though the exact award value is not specified in the documents, the breadth of glove types and two-year contract duration suggest a potentially significant procurement opportunity for qualified suppliers capable of meeting the City of Newark's extensive work glove requirements.
