About this opportunity
Carteret County Government in North Carolina is requesting bids on window and storefront system replacement at the Carteret County Courthouse in Beaufort under IFB issued October 9, 2026, with bids due October 29, 2026 by 11:00 a.m. EST and a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting on October 19, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. EST.
The scope covers replacement of approximately 154 fixed-pane and impact-rated windows, two single storefront doors with sidelights, a two-story north breezeway storefront system, first-story courtyard storefront system, two two-story courtyard curtain-wall windows, second-story courtyard fixed-pane windows, and two-story west curtain-wall windows. All windows require factory-tinted glass to match the existing District Court entrance storefront system, with break metal trimming and finishing for both interior and exterior. The contractor provides a turnkey delivery: all labor, materials, equipment, installation, finishing, temporary weather protection, debris removal, and final cleanup.
The courthouse remains occupied and operational during construction. Contractors must submit a detailed Phasing and Logistics Plan addressing work sequencing, material delivery routes, staging areas, debris removal, and measures to maintain court operations with minimal disruption. The contractor is responsible for field-verifying measurements, obtaining all required permits, protecting existing building components, complying with courthouse security procedures, maintaining temporary weather protection whenever openings are exposed, controlling dust and noise per county approval, and performing work within county-approved hours. Closeout requirements include submission of manufacturer warranties, as-built drawings, permits, inspection approvals, final lien waivers, and complete final cleaning and restoration of affected areas. All costs for phasing, protection, temporary enclosures, dust and noise control, security coordination, and weather protection must be included in the bid.
