About this opportunity
Collier County's Coastal Zone Management Division is seeking a qualified vendor to perform the Wiggins Pass Navigation Light Deconstruction and Reconstruction project, a specialized maritime infrastructure upgrade located approximately 0.3 miles from the mouth of Wiggins Pass. The procurement involves a comprehensive three-task contract requiring complete removal of the existing metal platform and ladder structure, fabrication of a new 10' x 10' stainless steel platform and ladder system, and installation of a solar-powered navigation light visible for three miles. Vendors must submit detailed pricing proposals with unit costs for each task and provide proof of E-Verify registration, state business registration through Sunbiz, and a comprehensive Certificate of Insurance. The solicitation was posted on July 7, 2025, with a question submission deadline of July 17, 2025, at 5:00 PM and a response submission deadline of July 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Evaluation criteria will focus on vendor responsiveness and submission of the lowest quote, with strict adherence to the county's purchase order terms and conditions.
The contract appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on vendor types, but requires substantial maritime and construction expertise given the technical nature of the project. Vendors must demonstrate comprehensive insurance coverage, including employer's liability, commercial general liability, automobile liability, and specialized watercraft coverage with Collier County named as an additional insured. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the project involves specialized marine construction and navigation infrastructure replacement, suggesting a potentially significant investment. Subcontractors will be required to meet the same stringent insurance and qualification requirements as the primary contractor. The project is structured as a one-time purchase with firm pricing for the duration of the purchase order, indicating a discrete, project-specific engagement rather than an ongoing contract.
