About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on white water rescue equipment for the Maine Warden Service, with bids due June 10, 2008.

The scope includes Mustang Survival personal protective equipment — Integrity Deluxe Bomber Jackets (red, sizes small through XX-large), Anti-Exposure Worksuits (orange, multiple sizes), Integrity Waterproof Hoods, and Fast Tabs — all requiring custom silkscreen application with "MAINE WARDEN SERVICE" branding on front and back. The procurement also includes Stearns Type V US Coast Guard-approved life vests in adult universal size, cutting knives with triple-point serrated edges, Seachoice whistles, and C-Strobe lights with PFD vest clips. Quantities and line-item numbers are specified in the attached specifications document. All apparel is color-coded for visibility. Customization services, including silkscreen setup and application, are part of the procurement.

Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item using prescribed forms or electronic submission to the Division of Purchases, Room 119, 9 State House Station, State Office Building, Augusta, Maine, prior to the closing date and time. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value to the State, with consideration given to quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. The State reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10% and to award contracts on a per-item or group basis. All transportation charges, including freight and express delivery, must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes; bidders should exclude these from quotes. Any manufacturer, importer, supplier, or distributor of hazardous chemicals must provide current material safety data sheets in compliance with Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law.
