About this opportunity
The City of Austin Purchasing Office is requesting quotations for weatherproof cables and wires under IFQ 1100 BAS1095, with quotes due June 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The solicitation follows a two-tier process: initial notice is sent to certified HUBS or M/WBE vendors, and if adequate quotes are not received, the solicitation is posted online to all registered vendors.
The scope is 7-stranded copper #2 medium hard drawn weatherproof wire with cross-linked polyethylene covering meeting ANSI/ICEA S-70-547 standards. Wire must be supplied on non-returnable wood reels with pressed-in metal hubs, 3-1/16 inch arbor holes, maximum 50-inch flange measurement, and maximum 32-inch outside-to-outside measurement. The estimated quantity is 3,000 feet with purchasing footage of 1,000 feet plus or minus 10 percent per reel. Approved manufacturers are CME/Custom, Nehring Electric/Custom, Republic Wire/Custom, and Service Wire/Custom; offerors must identify the specific manufacturer and part number being offered.
Delivery is required to Austin Energy-St Elmo Warehouse at 4411 Meinardus, Building W, Austin, Texas 78744. All quotes must be submitted on an FOB Destination basis with freight charges and all handling included in the item price. The City of Austin is exempt from Federal Excise and State Sales Tax; taxes must not be included in quoted prices. Payment terms are net 30 days of receipt of properly documented invoices, contingent on satisfactory delivery and subject to any payment discounts applied in the City's interest.
Offerors must submit price sheets, signed offer sheets, materials specifications or descriptive literature for non-referenced products, company name, authorized representative name, email address, manufacturer and part number, lead time, and total bid amount. Quotations should be submitted via email to Bailie Shotwell at Bailie.Shotwell@AustinTexas.gov. The City reserves the right to determine whether products are same or equal to specifications. All offers are subject to Texas Government Code Chapter 552 and will be made available to the public unless marked proprietary.
