About this opportunity
The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is soliciting responses for wayfinding design and fabrication services for Building C at 285 Andrew Young International Boulevard NW, Atlanta, with responses due July 12, 2023. A strict communication restriction is in effect: from advertisement through final award, interested firms are prohibited from communicating with Authority staff, GWCC officials, or their consultants regarding this solicitation except through formal question submission as outlined in the RFP or via existing work agreements. Finalists and the apparent awardee are restricted from public statements or press releases about their selection status; violation results in rejection of the offending submittal.
The scope encompasses design and fabrication of multiple sign types across four levels (Lobby, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3) of Building C, including blade directionals, wall directionals, overhead directionals, freestanding directionals, specialty blade signs, digital displays, welcome signage, and window graphics. Materials specified include .125-inch aluminum stock for cabinets, .063-inch minimum aluminum for channel letters, clear and translucent acrylic, 3M vinyl graphics, and VU|SCOR digital display systems with 3.9mm resolution. The vendor must obtain permits, submit shop drawings and color/material samples for approval prior to manufacture, perform field surveys to verify dimensions and architectural integrity, coordinate site protection and installation equipment, and provide a five-year warranty covering faulty materials and workmanship including fading, cracking, peeling, delamination, rusting, and structural failure. Prototype sign types (ST C Blade, ST H Overhead Directional, ST J Freestanding Directional) are required. Power connections within 5 feet of signage must be priced by the vendor; data connections will be provided by GWCC. Demolition and installation dates will be determined closer to the installation date based on GWCC event schedules.
Addendum One (July 5, 2023) clarified that message schedules take precedence over elevation drawings for specified sign types, added previously omitted sign types G.L.2, G.L.3, and G.L.4 to the message schedule, confirmed sign type U5 consists of six spanning units for exhibit hall entries, and noted that sign type P exhibit hall blades mount to a slanted wall requiring appropriate pricing. Henry Inc. is the apparent awardee.
