About this opportunity

The City of Oakland Public Works Department, Sewer Division is requesting quotations for wastewater lift station repair services for thirteen stations throughout the city, with proposals due August 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and questions due August 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Addendum 2, posted August 14, establishes a mandatory 24-hour availability requirement with one-hour physical response time for after-hours, weekend, and emergency calls measured from initial contact — the City maintains no backup contractor and will not excuse failure to meet this response window.

The scope covers maintenance and repair of submersible Flygt pumps, control panels, piping, float switches, and associated components at each station. Technicians must be certified and available during regular business hours and seven days per week on-call. Flygt/Xylem factory certification is preferred; documented experience repairing Flygt/Xylem equipment will be accepted. The contractor must deploy dedicated technicians for each repair request and maintain sufficient staffing to respond to multiple simultaneous emergencies.

The contract term is two years with an option to extend for one additional one-year period, with a not-to-exceed total amount of $250,000. Proposals must include hourly labor rates, overtime labor rates, and miscellaneous charges with detailed breakdowns reflecting current market rate pricing. The City prefers fixed rates throughout the two-year term; if second-year adjustments are necessary, 60-day notification is required. The City has provided no estimated annual usage data or historical after-hours call volume.

Prospective contractors must possess an active City of Oakland Business Tax License and meet all City insurance requirements per Schedule Q. Submissions are made through the iSupplier online portal; hardcopies are not available. Contact: Santiago Nocito, Procurement Buyer, snocito@oaklandca.gov, 510-238-7563.
