About this opportunity
The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC) is soliciting sealed bids on behalf of the Georgia Department of Veterans Service for the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home Elevator Upgrades project, located in Augusta, Georgia. The procurement involves modernizing one hydraulic passenger service elevator and two traction passenger elevators, which includes work in machine rooms and elevator pits. The project, identified as VSB-150-25-01, requires electronic bid submission through the e-Builder Project Management system, with bids due on February 18, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. A mandatory pre-bid conference was held on January 30, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the facility's conference room, and attendance was required for bidder qualification. Bidders must submit a complete Bid Verification and Statement of Qualifications, along with all required forms, and are restricted from communicating with state employees other than the designated contracting officer, Mendi Boddie, except during the pre-bid conference.
While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements were explicitly stated in the documents, the procurement appears open to qualified elevator service and construction firms. The bid documents suggest that potential vendors must demonstrate technical capability to upgrade elevator systems in a healthcare facility setting. The project involves integrating upgrades with existing elevator infrastructure at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, located at 1101 15th Street in Augusta. Multiple elevator service companies were represented at the pre-bid conference, including Advanced Elevator Services, Genesis Elevator, TKE, Southern Commercial Services, and Oracle Elevator, indicating a competitive bidding environment. Though a specific budget range was not disclosed, the comprehensive scope of work involving multiple elevator systems and associated machine room and pit modifications suggests a significant capital investment. Interested bidders must download bid documents through the provided e-Builder link and submit all required documentation electronically through the specified platform.
