About this opportunity

The Texas Military Department is requesting sealed bids for vault door replacement at the San Marcos Armory (201 City Park, Building 1, San Marcos, Texas) under IFB TMD26-FMO-0044367, with bids due August 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST. Mandatory pre-bid site visits are scheduled for August 13 and 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CST; failure to attend either visit results in automatic disqualification.

The scope requires removal and installation of one Class 5 single vault door with frame, threshold, and hardware to replace two existing 40-inch by 78-inch Mosler Model 5161 vault doors. The new door must include a Sargent and Greenleaf 2937 lock or equivalent and all necessary GSA certifications. Work includes saw-cutting interior cement walls and steel plates, debris removal, and daily cleanup. The contractor must demonstrate five years of experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of Class 5 vault doors and submit copies of GSA certifications.

Pricing is firm fixed-price on a comprehensive basis covering all parts, materials, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, and shipping, submitted using the Mandatory Pricing Schedule (Attachment G.3). Bidders must provide the estimated number of calendar days required for project completion from notice of award to substantial completion. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with weekend and holiday work requiring written Project Manager approval.

Insurance requirements are workers' compensation at statutory limits, commercial general liability of $1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate, automobile liability of $500,000 combined single limit, umbrella/excess liability of $1 million, and professional liability of $1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate, all from A.M. Best-rated companies. The initial contract term is one year, with TMD discretion to extend up to three additional one-year periods. Questions are due August 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST; Q&A will be posted by August 20. TMD reserves the right to award based on best value rather than lowest price and will evaluate past vendor performance through the Vendor Performance Tracking System.
