About this opportunity
The City of Owensboro, Kentucky, in Daviess County, is requesting competitive sealed bids for the replacement of various fencing projects throughout the city at multiple locations including Eastern Little League diamond 1, Chautauqua exterior fence on Parrish Avenue, Dugan Best, and Thompson Berry. The primary deliverable involves the removal of approximately 1,050 feet of existing chain link fencing and installation of approximately 3,900 feet of six-foot commercial, nine-gauge galvanized chain link fencing with all necessary components including posts, post caps, rails, tension bands, and fence ties, along with five sets of commercial galvanized double drive gates (12 feet each). The project must achieve completion by March 1, 2026, to accommodate the start of baseball league play. All pricing must be quoted as F.O.B. Destination with no additional freight charges, and all prices shall be firm and exclusive of taxes. A pre-bid conference call is scheduled for 10:00 AM on January 20, 2026, via Microsoft Teams, though attendance is not mandatory. Bids must be submitted through the Bonfire Portal by January 29, 2026, and will be publicly opened via conference call, with all bids remaining open for acceptance for a minimum of 60 days after bid opening. The solicitation does not identify any set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or incumbent vendors. All bidders must comply with equal opportunity statutes and Kentucky security breach notification requirements. Bid security in the form of cash, a cashier's check, or a bid bond equal to five percent of the bid amount is required, and the successful bidder must furnish a 100% performance bond and a 100% payment bond within ten working days of award notification. The contractor must maintain a one-year workmanship warranty with manufactured material warranties as stated, obtain a City business license within ten business days of award, and carry worker's compensation insurance at statutory limits and commercial general liability and automobile liability insurance at $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate.
