About this opportunity
The Oregon Department of Transportation is requesting bids on the US 101 Coos County Stockpile Site Project under ITB 00017448, with bids due August 4, 2026. The project involves installation of 130 linear feet of 18-inch HDPE culvert pipe across three locations, culvert embankment and slope protection using Class 200 riprap, general excavation for ditches and roadway construction, subgrade geotextile installation, and 12 inches of aggregate base along Highway 101 at milepost 245.56 in Coos County, Oregon.
The scope includes approximately 9,047 cubic yards of excavation with 5,036 cubic yards of embankment, 35 cubic yards of Class 200 riprap at inlet and outlet locations, and installation of 6,472 square yards of subgrade geotextile and 3,457 tons of aggregate base. Thermal butt fusion joints performed by certified fusion technicians are required for culvert pipe installation. The contractor must develop and implement an erosion and sediment control plan prepared by a qualified professional. All work is governed by the 2024 Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction with project-specific modifications.
The contract requires performance and payment bonds each equal to the contract price, comprehensive insurance including $1 million per occurrence / $2 million annual aggregate commercial general liability, and $1 million commercial automobile liability. Prevailing wage rates for BOLI Region 7 (Coos County) apply. No retainage will be withheld unless certified wage statements are required, in which case 25 percent may be retained. Liquidated damages of $600 per calendar day apply for delays beyond the substantial completion date of September 25, 2026. Final completion is due October 2, 2026. The award will go to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Jessica Spann, District Operations Coordinator, serves as the project manager at (541) 315-5999 or Jessica.Spann@odot.oregon.gov.
