About this opportunity

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is soliciting vendor information for a single-source procurement of Unmanned Aircraft Systems with aerial ignition capabilities for prescribed fire operations, with responses due September 23, 2026 by 12:00 PM ET. This is not a competitive solicitation; the agency has determined that the services and commodities are available only from a single source and is inviting prospective vendors to demonstrate their ability to supply the specified systems. Drone Amplified, Inc. is identified as the intended single-source supplier based on its proprietary IGNIS technology, described as the only aerial ignition system capable of meeting all legislative, security, and operational requirements.

The scope comprises eight new Astro UAS/IGNIS III mini ignition packages with strobes, six strobe upgrades for existing fleet systems, and one additional IGNIS II hopper for existing fleet systems. Systems must be equipped with cameras, thermal infrared systems, and software capable of processing burn unit boundaries, ignition grid patterns, and transect layouts with field-adjustment capability and flight-pattern recording. All systems must comply with Florida Administrative Code 60GG-2.0075 Tier III security methods and cannot interface with FWC networks; data transfer is limited to IT-approved removable media only. Purchase restrictions prohibit drones manufactured by or controlled by entities domiciled in Foreign Countries of Concern, and data storage must be restricted to the continental United States with no remote access from outside that geographic region. Each system package includes the drone, landing gear, replacement propellers, transport cases, radio controller, four battery sets, two chargers, thermal and visual cameras, gimbal, Remote ID module, ignition sphere dispenser, tablet, strobe, and on-site operator training.

The estimated contract value is $694,492. Responses should be directed to Rachel Massey, Assistant Purchasing Director, at rachel.massey@myfwc.com or 850-510-9990.
